So I was out tearing up some back roads in Arkansas and I decided to take a detour to check out some nature. Things did not go well from there.

Should have locked the hubs, shifted in 4W-Low and powered through.

Half a cord of wood in the bed won’t hurt either.

My 328 is the best vehicle I’ve ever owned.. It’s fun when I want it to be and civilized when I don’t. And if I’m nice to it, I can get numbers like this:
Not too many gas-only cars can get to 60 in 5 (ok... 5.4) seconds and pull 40mpg on the highway.

Yeah for taking German luxury cars up roads they don’t belong on!

Wut. Ours gets around 22-25 IIRC. And we leave it in Eco Pro most of the time.

Mine is just a base 328 with no xdrive or M Sport bells and whitles.. I do have an afe scorcher piggyback chip that increases mileage by about 10% if I stay off of the boost (it also gave me some noticeable power gains - particularly in Sport+). I get about 37 cruising at 80 - I was more economical on that trip because I wanted to get 600 miles out of the tank, but I still kept it at the speed limit or slightly higher. Even cruising at 90 (in Texas of course), I still get 32.

Wow. Ours is also a base 328i xDrive, haha. Well, here in New York, the crazy stop-and-go city traffic probably contributes to the bad mpg.

Ahh.. My day to day is around 28 so that makes more sense. I only get the big numbers cruising on the highway. That 600 mile tank was all in one shot from Northwest Louisiana to Nashville. I almost ran out of gas before the car did
